Keys
Key control is important to the safety of the building and occupants. Keys, especially master keys, should be distributed as judiciously as possible. Each key assigned should be recorded in the Keying spreadsheet. To the right of the table below is a chart of the last key number assigned. All keys should be stamped with a numeric code next to the key’s letter code, producing something that looks like “AA14”. The key assignment should be in the Keying spreadsheet. Additionally, the Key Receipt Jotform should be sent to the employee for their acknowledgement of the keys they have received.
When an employee departs the organization, their keys, key card and computer should be returned. The key return information needs to be entered into the keying sheet as well.
